Intermodaltransport is the transportation between two means of transport. Forinstance, when an individual uses both rail and the roadto their workplace,it becomes intermodal transport. Thetransport model is instrumental in making the workplaces moreaccessible. In the contemporary society, trans-modal transport is reducing andthe model of transport, which replaces it, is the intermodaltransportation. The model of transportation, which is major in the North Americancountries, also comes in a close association with containerizationwhere freights are movable both on land and atsea. When the ships arrive with the freights, they are taken for transportto the specific destinations using the trucks. Intermodaltransportation has enhanced the manner in which individuals perceivethe transportation of goods and services. The model also presentsitself as the future of transportation in the society. Therefore, this calls for the government involvement in the development ofbetter initiatives to enhance the model of transportation andincrease the efficiency (Konings, Priemus &amp Nijkamp, 2008).

Theparticipationof the government, rating with past associationsin mega strategies, would ameliorate the general perception of thesociety on the transportation means and in turn popularize it amongthe citizens. The involvement would also mean a greater investment inthe rural sectors to connect them with the towns in a more efficientmanner. Therefore, intermodal transport stands as the future oftransportation in the society.

Governmentinvolvement in the transportation sector would translate to betterinitiative and interventions to help the society. The government hasanenormousoutreach of scientists and factors, which deserve consideration whenexpanding the industry. Nonetheless, the government has resourcesthat are efficient in the handling of the development of theintermodal form of transport (Konings, Priemus &amp Nijkamp, 2008).Therefore, through its involvement in the general activities of theelaborationof the modesof transport, the author is right to mention a greater extent ofdevelopment. The government would ameliorate the factors that actprimarily to improve transportation for individuals. Nonetheless, theinvolvement is a possible avenue of saving money for specific modelsof transport.

Governmentinvolvement as prevalent in other sectors has been instrumental inthe development of new and efficient innovations. The department ofdefense’s participationin the innovation of technologies has led to the improvementof the technological systems of the society. Through the avenue ofpicking leadingscientists and instrumental figures to help with the change, the government has become a pioneer investor in the development oftechnological systems in the society. Therefore, through thegovernment involvement in the activities of the technicalindustry, errant devices undergo rectification as better devicesreplace those, which were inefficient. Therefore, the participationof the government in the transport sector would mean a great benefitto the society.

Inconclusion, the government involvement in the innovation of bettermodels of intermodal transport would bring greater good to thesociety. Thisisin consideration to the previous cases such as a technologicalfield. The Departmentof Defense’s involvement in the innovation of various technologieshas helped to bring up solutions to problems that never had solutionsbefore. Therefore, through the significant involvement, theintermodal sector would achieve the ultimate vision of being thefuture transportation means. This model of transport is significantlyan important areafor the entire economy since different forms benefit from constantuse by the citizens. Therefore, innovations should help amelioratethe existing systems. Moreover, the intermodal transport stands asthe future of transportation.
