Itis essential for healthcare facilities or organizations to come upwith various mechanisms of implementing risk management programs.Notably, the programs are primarily meant to ensure that patientsafety is prioritized hence mitigating any potential loss of lives.In accomplishing the same, various risk management plans should beidentified and implemented. For this analysis, the focus will be onnew employees as a risk management plan (Swayne,Duncan & Ginter,2012)
Undeniably,any healthcare facility requires new employees so that it can be ableto run its day to day activities successfully. The recruitment ofmore employees is an integral part in ensuring that the same isachieved. First, recruiting new employees will ensure that better andhigh-quality services are offered to the patients. On the same note,the higher number of health personnel will play a significant role inaddressing frequent shortages which are very common in manyhealthcare facilities. This will make it much easier for the patientsto access the services thus helping in saving lives which could havebeen lost in case the number of employees wasn’t sufficient enoughto attend to the patients. Additionally, in the process of ensuringthat risk management is attained, the new employees should be trainedon all aspects of risk management strategies so that they can beaware of the effective and efficient actions to be taken to preventrisks. Apart from that, the training will also enlighten them theimportance of interdepartmental coordination within the health carefacility thus ensuring quick response to emergencies. This willprevent possible deaths and loss of lives (Swayne,et al 2012).
Ina typical healthcare organization risk management program, there arespecific recommended administrative steps in risk management. Theyinclude
Hereclinical new employees are sensitized and they become conversant withsome of the possible risks within that they might be subjected to orexperience within the healthcare organization.
Itentails the determination of the potential severity that is relatedto the identified risk
Refersto the options available for addressing the risk identified and itentails risk acceptance, risk avoidance as well as risk reduction orminimization.
Itis the last step in risk management process in health careorganization. It entails an evaluation and analysis of the techniquesand mechanisms used to identify, analyze and treat risks (Swayne,et al 2012).
However,these recommended administrative steps contradict to my see selectedexample plan which entails recruitment of trained professionals,employee training on all aspects of risk management and alsosensitizing them on the importance of interdepartmental coordinationin managing risks.
Inthe United States, there are various key agencies and organizationsthat regulate the administration of safe health care through thedistinctive roles that they play. (ASSHRA,2011).
Centersfor Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Centersfor Disease Control and Prevention is one of the key agencies thatfocuses on the administration of safe health care. The mission of theagency is to advocate for good health and high quality of lifethrough the prevention and control of diseases. The agency seeks toattain that mission by detecting and preventing any health problemsor complicationsAPIC (2008).Also, its role is to ensure that effective prevention strategies forvarious diseases are implemented, promote and develop sound policiesfor the healthcare facilities, ensure that there is a safe andhealthy environment, conduct studies on various illnessesrecommending methods of preventing diseases as well providingleadership and training to the healthcare professionals.
Divisionof Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP)
Thisagency plays a significant role in risk management oversight processby protecting healthcare personnel and patients. Additionally, itensures that there is quality, safety as well as value in healthcaredelivery systems by providing the necessary leadership in a widevariety of areas. Some of those areas include outbreaks in Healthcaresettings, healthcare outcomes and the development of guidelines andpolicies on controlling infection.
U.S.ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA)
Thisindependent government agency advocates for the protection of theenvironment and also the health of human beings. Also, its role is topromote and enforce regulations and ensure implementation of variousenvironmental laws passed by the Congress. It also conducts a varietyof studies on the standards of various environmental programs(APIC 2008).
Foodand Drug Administration (FDA)
Foodand Drug Administration agency plays the role of safeguarding publichealth by focusing on the effectiveness and the safety of theveterinary and human drugs, medical services, biological products aswell as the substances which emit radiations. The agency alsoconducts researches on innovations to make drugs and medicinesrelatively affordable to the general public.
HealthResources and Services Administration (HRSA)
Thisis also another key agency in the risk management oversight process.It aims at improving the easy accessibility of healthcare services tothe individuals of people who don’t have insurance for medicalcovers, those who are more vulnerable to diseases or the ones whohave been isolated. The agency has six different bureaus to offerleadership training and financial support to the healthcareproviders. The agency ensures healthcare is provided to children,mothers, pregnant women and HIV/AIDS patients. The training offeredto the healthcare professionals is purposely meant to improvehealthcare and the use of systems in rural communities (APIC,2008).
Incomplying with the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management(ASHRM) standards, all medical facilities and healthcareorganizations are obliged to present a risk management program to allnew employees who are yet to be integrated into the organization.This entails employee orientation in which the new staff members areintroduced to risk management procedures such as risk identification,risk analysis, risk treatment as well as the evaluation of riskmanagement strategies. Also, in meeting compliance standards, the newemployees should have periodic in services as well as a closeinteraction with other groups within the organization such as theboard of directors, the quality assurance committee, clinicalcommittee, and the corporate compliance.
Toimprove, enhance or secure compliance standards will make thefollowing changes/recommendations on new employees.

•Integratinglegal and regulatory requirements into organizational policies sothat they can be embraced by the new employees (ASSHRA,2011).
